Police: Man robbed at gunpoint after meeting on 'Offer Up' app

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - Police say a man was arrested for committing armed robbery after he arranged to buy a cell phone using an app.

Dominique Hardy met the victim in the 600 block of Delhi Avenue on Feb. 26 with the assumption that Hardy was going to buy a cell phone, court documents state. The two arranged the meeting from the Offer Up App.

Instead, the incident report states, Hardy got into the victim's car and pulled out a black semi-automatic handgun.

Police said Hardy told the victim to drive around the block. Hardy allegedly took items from the victim valued at $2,300 and loaded it into a backpack.

Then according to the report, the victim was told to drive back to Delhi where they met. Hardy then demanded the victims license and took a photo of it and said, "I know who you are and where you live," according to the report. He allegedly went on to say, "If you call the boys I will kill you."

Hardy has now been charged with this crime. He was already in jail on previous charges.
