Cincinnati Reds Opening Day 2016: Celebrations and events

Opening Day for the Reds has become a holiday of sorts in Cincinnati. But what if you don't have tickets? Here are some spots outside the ball park to celebrate the Reds returning to GABP.  

Arnold's Bar

Details: 9 a.m.

Where: 210 E 8th Street, Cincinnati, OH 45202

Celebrate Opening Day at Arnold's Bar and Grill. They will be serving breakfast from 9 a.m. - 11 a.m.  There will be performances from Todd Hepburn, Circus Mojo, and the the Shakespeare Company.

In what has become an Arnold’s Tradition, they will be marking the bottom of 1 out of every 5 random beer cups. If you get one of the marked cups you win Vintage 1950's Reds Baseball cards or autographed cards and game used Memorabilia from Pete Rose, Joey Votto, Brandon Phillips, George Foster, Billy Hamilton, Jay Bruce, Adam Dunn and more. Over 100 prizes in all.

Fountain Square

Details: 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.

Where: 520 Vine Street, Cincinnati, OH 45202

Give Back Cincinnati will be pouring delicious MadTree Brewing beers for all the thirsty baseball fans. The party will have entertainment, beer and food all day long. 

In Between Tavern

Where: 307 Sycamore St., Downtown.

This local tavern and grill is always a fun spot before, during and after a Reds game, which is located directly across from Great American Ball Park.

Lachey’s 

Details: 11 a.m.

Where: 56 E 12th Street, Cincinnati, OH 45202

Cheer on the Cincinnati Reds at Lachey's with a live DJ from 11 a.m. - 4 p.m., the game aired on our HDTV's with sound, and $10 Marge Schott Boilermakers. They'll have $4 Rhinegeist Hustle cans and $4 MadTree Brewing Rounding Third on draft during happy hour.

Moerlein Lager House

Details: 6 a.m.

Where: 115 Joe Nuxhall Way, Cincinnati, OH 45202

The Moerlein Lager House will host the live broadcast of the Bob & Tom Show from 6-10 a.m. on Monday, April 4. A breakfast buffet for $15.99 will be offered during the broadcast in the Beer Garden. From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Greg Vaughn, the outfielder who played for the Reds on the 1999 team, will meet with fans in the tent on the Event Lawn adjacent to the Moerlein Lager House. Live DJ and drinks available out on the lawn as well.

Neon's Unplugged

Details: 12 p.m.

Where: 208 E 12th St, Cincinnati, OH 45202

Neon's will be giving away two tickets to the Opening Day game, to Cincinnati's biggest Reds fan.

In addition, they will be rolling out a 12 foot screen to play the game.

Melt Eclectic Cafe will be grilling up ball park favorites all day long. 

The Phelps Bar/Top of the Park

Details: Noon till 11 p.m.

Where: 506 E 4th Street, Cincinnati, OH 45202

Opening Day will also be opening day for the rooftop season at the Phelps Bar/Top of the Park. They will have drink specials all day and live music from the Kelsey Mira Band at night!

Rhinegeist

Details: 10 a.m.

Where: 1910 Elm Street, Cincinnati, OH 45202

Rhinegeist will have cold beers and hot breakfast for sale starting at 10 a.m. Come play a game of bags or ping pong, then stick around and catch the game on our big screen projector. They'll be providing a shuttle from the tap room, down to Great American Ball Park. Shuttles run from 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. and will pick up outside the brewery on Elm Street every 30 minutes.

Rhinehaus

Details: 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Where: 119 E 12th Street, Cincinnati, OH 45202

Rhinehaus is offering $20 bottomless mimosas and breakfast from 9 a.m. to noon. They also will be having a split the pot raffle. Proceeds will benefit the Lauren Worley's Woman of the Year campaign. 

Washington Park

Details: 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Where: 1230 Elm Street, Cincinnati, OH 45202

The free event will be full of games, music, local craft beers and your favorite foods from the ballpark. There will be live music from The Menus and the game will be played on a giant LED screen in the park.
