INDEPENDENCE, KY (FOX19) - A man is charged with hitting a 10-year old in the head at a local LaRosa's and it was all caught on camera.
Court paperwork shows Michael Weber, of Independence, is charged with assault in the incident.
On March 8, court records indicate Weber hit a 10-year old "in the face with his hand" while the child was walking to the restroom in the restaurant. Authorities say restaurant employees looked at security video after the incident that "showed Mr. Weber striking the 10 year old victim and pushing child into the wall."
The incident happened at a LaRosa's in Independence.
The child was able to identify Weber, who is 35-years old, as the person who hit him.
FOX19 NOW obtained the surveillance video of the incident from local police.
Weber was eventually asked to leave the restaurant and police were called, according to records filed in Kenton County.
Investigators caught up with Weber at another LaRosa's in Taylor Mill about 90 minutes later. They questioned him in connection with the assault of the 10-year old.
In a citation, officers say "it was apparent that he was under the influence of alcohol and possibly drugs" when they made contact with Weber.
Police say that during their interview, Weber was "disoriented" and wasn't making sense to officers and eventually started yelling at officers and disturbing people in the Taylor Mill restaurant.
Officers say that it was "manifestly apparent" that he was drunk or high.
Weber was later charged with drug charges after police say they found him with Oxycodone pills in an unmarked pill bottle found in his backpack.
He's facing charges of assault, alcohol intoxication in a public place, disorderly conduct and possession of a controlled substance.
