CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -

St. Xavier High School grad and former University of Cincinnati golfer Jim Herman shot 15-under to win the Shell Houston Open on Sunday and earn an invite to the first major of the season.

“We wanted to get as many birdies as we can and keep it low stress,” said Herman fighting back tears. “Geez, look what happened.”

With the one stroke win over Henrik Stenson, the 38-year-old Cincinnati native will now play in the Master tournament later this week at Augusta National.
