Wrong-way driver caught on camera before deadly crash

EVENDALE, OH (FOX19) -

An Ohio Department of Transportation traffic camera shows a vehicle driving the wrong way on Interstate 75 just moments before a deadly collision.

The traffic camera is located just south of the Neumann Way exit and faces north.

Kory Wilson, 30, of Springfield Township, was driving southbound in the northbound lanes near Neumann Way around 3:30 a.m., police said.

Just after passing the camera, Wilson’s Chevy Suburban hit an Audi A8 head-on, according to Evendale police. The driver, Nazih Shtaiwi, 61, and his wife, Halla Odeh Shtaiwi, 55, died at the scene. The couple were from Fairfield.

Wilson was also pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of a third vehicle was taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

All northbound lanes were shut down from shortly after the crash occurred until 8:45 a.m.
