CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - Wednesday is the deadline for Ohio Duke Energy customers to file for money back into their wallets out of an $80 million settlement in a class-action lawsuit.
Between 2005 and 2008, Duke Energy unlawfully paid rebates to big industrial customers, but not to residential customers, the suit states.
Ohio residential customers could receive between $40 and $400 in the suit.
Non-residential customers could get $200 to $4,000.
"Duke decided to settle the class-action lawsuit, although they admit no wrongdoing," said FOX19 NOW legal analyst Mike Allen. "Usually when a company settles something like that, they think they have some exposure, so therefore they settled."
