Pedestrian fatally hit in Elsmere identified

ELSMERE, KY (FOX19) -

The pedestrian that was struck by a vehicle and killed late Monday has been identified.

Police identified the victim as Elsmere resident 34-year-old Ladon E. Nelson.

Officers responded to the accident on New Buffington Road Near Garvey Avenue at 9:42 p.m.

They found Nelson dead at the scene, police said in a statement Tuesday.

The driver of the striking vehicle was taken to St. Elizabeth Medical Center for evaluation.

The incident remains under investigation.
