MT. AIRY, OH (FOX19) -

Police arrested a Mt. Airy mother after they said she left her two-year-old home alone for around 30 minutes.

Officers were alerted around midnight on Wednesday when neighbors called 911 after they saw the child wandering around the hallway of the apartment complex on East Knoll Ct.

When responding officers arrived to the apartment the door was open and no one inside, according to the arrest report.

The father of the child told FOX19 NOW that the mother, Brianna Turner, went to the corner store to buy some cigarettes. He said Turner got to the store and realized she had no money and came back.

“She said she wasn’t gone that long,” the father told FOX19 NOW.

Police disagree, they said after they knocked on the open door and she didn’t show up until about 30 minutes later.

Turner has been charged with Child Endangering.
