Suspect arrested in liquor store smash n' grab

COVINGTON, KENTUCKY (FOX19) -

A suspect is under arrest after a liquor store smash 'n grab break-in overnight, police said.

Russell Evans, 39,is held at the Kenton County jail on a burglary charge, said Assistant Police Chief Brian Steffen.

Evans was taken into custody shortly before 2 a.m. Friday after officers responded to a report of a break-in at D.E.P. Fine Wine and Spirits on West 3rd Street.

Police say he is the one who smashed the front windows and briefly got away with some bottles of liquor and wine.

He also tried to break into an adjacent discount tobacco store, but was unsuccessful, they said.
