CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - Matthew 25: Ministries is working to help respond to the disaster in South America
A magnitude 7.8 earthquake struck Ecuador's central coast. It's the strongest earthquake in that region since 1979.
The Associated Press reports 233 people were killed and more than 500 injured as of 11 a.m. Sunday morning.
A state of emergency has been issues for the provinces of Guayas, Manabí, Sato Domingo, Los Rios, Esmeraldas, and the Galapagos.
Matthew 25: Ministries CEO, Tim Mettey says, "Matthew 25 is in contact with our partners in this area and will be responding to this disaster once we've received reports. Our thoughts and prayers are with the people affected by the earthquake."
