CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - Cincinnati City Councilman P.G. Sittenfeld collapsed Tuesday morning at a press conference at City Hall.
Sittenfeld said he became overheated before passing out around 10:30 a.m. It happened as city leaders were introducing new resources to fight gender-based violence on college campuses.
He was up and talking with the media shortly after the incident.
"Not the way I would have liked to draw attention to this cause," Sittenfeld joked after being checked out be an EMS crew.
The councilman said he has a vasovagal episodes about five to seven times in his life but has an overall clean bill of health.
"A combination of dehydrating, being overheating, and low blood pressure. I'm a pretty vigorous runner. Went for a vigorous run this morning," said Sittenfeld.
He thanked first responders and said he will continue his day as-planned.
