FAIRFIELD, OH (FOX19) -

A man is in custody following a double shooting that left one person dead Tuesday night, Fairfield police confirm.

Officers found two victims with gunshot wounds when they responded to a business parking lot in the 5100 block of Winton Road around 11 p.m.

A 27-year-old man, believed to be from Chicago, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to a release from the department. A 33-year-old man from Cincinnati was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police arrested Adam Armstrong, 29, of Cincinnati, at the shooting scene. He is in the Butler County Jail on a preliminary charge of felonious assault. Authorities say more charges will be filed after consulting with the prosecutor’s office.

The victims’ identities have not been released.
