DEER PARK, OH (FOX19) - An East Price Hill man is accused of making lewd comments toward two children at a Deer Park playground Tuesday, according to court documents filed in Hamilton County.
Documents state Kevin Gunn, 57, approached the two children at Chamberlin Park then told a 4-year-old boy that he liked to "drink pee." Gunn then sat down next to the boy's 7-year-old sister and said he liked to "taste kid's spit."
The victim's mother called 911 when her children relayed what Gunn told them, according to an affidavit.
The mother of the victims, who asked FOX19 NOW not to identify her to protect her children, did issue a statement describing the incident:
"I think it's important for people to know that both of my children were approached in separate instances, both times with me watching about 20 feet away,' said the victim's mother.
When the arresting officer arrived, Gunn was observed playing with small children on the playground equipment.
"I teach my kids to be respectful and I believe giving them independence is important, but even while under close watch, this man was relentless," the victim's mother said.
Gunn initially denied to police saying anything to the children, but then admitted that he had spoken to him, court records show.
He was arrested on two counts of importuning and booked into the Hamilton County Justice Center.
Gunn is being held on a $200,000 bond after facing a judge Wednesday.
"I want parents to be reminded that they may think their children would fair well in a similar situation, but all children still need guidance and protection and supervision," she said. "We discussed the dangers of talking to strangers, a topic they are already well versed in, and then we said a prayer for him."
