BOONE CO., KY (FOX19) - A Cincinnati man is accused of robbing two northern Kentucky businesses before leading police on a chase during morning rush hour Wednesday.
The Boone County Sheriff's Office said Lefon Edwards, 28, demanded money and threatened employees at the Holiday Inn Express, located on Frogtown Connector Road.
The suspect then robbed Frontage Road Waffle House before fleeing in a SUV around 6:30 a.m.
A Waffle House employee followed the vehicle, providing police with a description and location of the suspect.
Police decided to call off the chase when the vehicle reached dangerous speeds as it approached a school zone and crowded rush-hour intersection.
Detectives later tracked down Edwards in Cincinnati and arrested him, according to a press release from the sheriff's office. He reportedly admitted to both robberies.
Edwards was taken to the Hamilton County Jail and charged with two counts of robbery. More traffic charges are expected.
