FOX19/CNN - Film fans will get a chance to pay tribute to music icon Prince this weekend.
The AMC and Carmike theater chains will show Prince's 1984 film Purple Rain at more than 160 locations nationwide.
Screenings will be held from April 23 - 28.
The AMC THeater at Newport on Levee will be taking part in the event.
- Saturday: 2 p.m. and 7:20 p.m.
- Sunday: 1: 55 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
- Monday: 2 p.m. and 7:15 p.m.
- Tuesday: 2 p.m. and 7:15 p.m.
- Wednesday: 2 p.m. and 7:15 p.m.
Purple Rain helped make Prince a household name in the U.S., making nearly $70 million at the box office and winning an Oscar for best original song.
The Purple Rain soundtrack remains one of the most successful albums in U.S. history, selling more than 13 million copies.
Prince passed away Thursday at age 57.
