QUEENSGATE, OH (FOX19) -

A driver who shot up on heroin and overdosed almost rolled onto I-75 after he became unconscious, Cincinnati Police confirm.

Officers were called to a crash at the intersection of Ezzard Charles Dr. and Western Ave. near the Cincinnati Museum Center around 12:30 p.m. Sunday afternoon.

Responding officers found a car crashed into a tree near I-75.

Lt. Steve Saunders of the Cincinnati Police Department said the driver shot up heroin in the Cincinnati Museum Center parking lot and drove off. The driver allegedly became unconscious and started rolling down the hill onto I-75 but was stopped by a small tree.

The passenger of the vehicle tried to revive the driver but was unsuccessful. Emergency crews were able to revive the man once they arrived to the scene, Saunders said.

The driver is likely to face drug OVI charges, according to Cincinnati PD.
