ST. BERNARD, OH (FOX19) -

Two people were apprehended after a store robbery and police chase and crash, police said.

St. Bernard police said in a prepared statement they are investigating an armed robbery about 9 p.m. Sunday at the Dollar Store at 4940 Vine St.

Prior to police being notified about the robbery, officers observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed out of the parking lot and onto East Ross Avenue.

Officers continued to follow this vehicle as it traveled onto Paddock Road and then onto Reading Road. That's when they said they received the call about the store robbery.

As the vehicle continued to flee, it was involved in an accident on Reading Road near Glenwood Avenue.

Cincinnati police are investigating the crash scene, and two people were apprehended, according to St. Bernard police.

"Investigation to this point would seem to indicate that this vehicle was involved in the robbery," police wrote in the prepared statement. "Two guns were recovered from the vehicle."

Police are still investigating and said they would release more information as it becomes available.
