WOODLAWN, OH (FOX19) - After 35 years on the job, a local police chief announced his retirement this week.

Woodlawn Police Chief Jeff Witte made the official announcement during a ceremony at the police department headquarter Tuesday.

His last day is Friday.

The department's current assistant chief, Aaron Tillman III, will be the interim police chief.

There is no word on when a permanent replacement will be announced.
