FLORENCE, KY (FOX19) -

A carjacking suspect at a Florence UDF earlier this week has been apprehended in Florida, Florence Police Department announced.

On Monday, while the woman was inside paying for gas at the UDF located on 6712 U.S. 25, police say a man entered her 2014 Ford F150 and ordered the passenger out of the car at gun point.

The suspect fled the scene in the truck at an unknown direction, according to the Florence Police Department.

Investigators say an anonymous tip led to the identification of Nicholas Current, 24, and police issued a warrant for first degree robbery. Detectives were able to gather information that Current was in Lee County, Florida.

Current was arrested by the Lee County Port Authority on Thursday and transported to the Lee County Jail.
