FOX19 - Parents now have the option of reducing the risk of passing certain conditions onto their children.

The CDC says 1 in every 33 babies have a birth defect because of a genetic disorder.

Now, fertility specialists have a procedure to all but eliminate that problem. The genes of the parents-to-be are tested before the woman is pregnant.

Doctors find the embryos, which carry some disorder and remove them. Only the healthy em become a fetus, are healthy.

The procedure has reportedly proven to increase the woman's chance of getting pregnant, and lower miscarriage rates.
