UGA official claims football is more dangerous than cheerleading

FOX19 - An official from the University of Georgia claims cheerleading can be more dangerous than football.

He cites a CBS report that found about 15 percent of Georgia cheerleaders suffered concussions in 2013, which was a higher percentage than players on the football team.

Researchers say many concussions in football aren't officially diagnosed, which makes the study slightly misleading.

Regardless of the comparison, the head of sports medicine at Georgia says better safety regulations are needed for cheerleading.
