A police chase started in downtown Cincinnati and ended in a lake near Anderson Township Thursday.

A silver truck sped away when police attempted stop it near the I-471 ramp on Reading Road, according to Lt. Steve Saunders. He said the occupants of the vehicle were wanted several robberies in Union Township.

The woman driver, Shaye Jeffrey, of Batavia, was apprehended on Reading Road but Jeffrey Scott Abrams jumped into the driver's seat and took off, Saunders said.

The chase traveled through Kentucky and eventually ended up on Broadwell Road in Anderson Township where Abrams jumped into a lake.

Abrams was eventually taken into custody. He was wanted on a series of purse snatchings in Union Township and had open warrants in Clermont and Warren Counties, Union Township PD said.

No injuries were reported.

Abrams and Jeffrey are at the Clermont County jail charged with robbery.

Union Township Police Department says an investigation is ongoing with the expectation that additional charges are forthcoming.
