CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -

I'm not a hater, I'm really not....OK, maybe I am.

But can someone please play defense on Steph Curry!

I've watched the NBA all my life and grew up with Magic, Larry and Michael: three of the players who would be on the NBA's Mount Rushmore.

Now I'm hearing Curry deserves to be in the same discussion as these three legends.

Are you kidding me?!

I stayed up way too late to watch Curry and the Golden State Warriors struggle in a loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder in game one of the Western Conference Finals.

The league MVP certainly didn't have one of his best games. Probably because the Thunder actually played defense.

All year, I've watched Curry make circus shots and drain three-pointers with a defender nowhere within five feet of him.

Um, last I looked this was the NBA. If you leave anyone open by that much, they're going to make shots. Get in his face!

Take a look at old video of Michael Jordan; defenders barely let him breathe. The Detroit Pistons didn't use "The Jordan Rules" for nothing and Jordan would still drop 40 a night.

Now, Steph Curry is being called the best player in the world. He's definitely one of the best but, as far as I'm concerned, the best still plays up in Cleveland.

Lebron James is physically imposing, takes bumps all game long, and still dominates.

I've belly-ached about the soft defense on Curry all season (check my twitter feed), but playoff basketball is different. It's a lot more physical, demanding, and I'm not sure Curry will be able to duplicate his historic regular season.

I understand the Warriors' loss to OKC is just one game, Curry will probably bounce back in game two and I'll probably be eating my words later this week but, for now, I'm drinking the Hater-ade.
