MOUNT AIRY, OH (FOX19) - The suspect in a school nurse's homicide was found dead in Mt. Airy Forest Wednesday morning, a police spokesman said.
Joseph Swecker, 34, had a self-inflicted gunshot wound when his body was located down a steep embankment, said Lt. Steve Saunders.
Cincinnati Police had been searching for Swecker since Tuesday morning. He was considered a person of interest in the death of Julia Boyajian, according to Saunders.
Boyajian, 34, was a school nurse at Mount Auburn International Academy. She was found dead in the 6100 block of Hamilton Avenue around 11:30 a.m. Monday. Her death is under investigation as a homicide.
"She had a spirit like nobody else. Such a beautiful beautiful woman. She would have done anything for anybody," said friend Jacqui Wright.
Authorities on Tuesday found Boyajian's abandoned vehicle near the Mount Airy Forest, prompting officers and K9 units to conduct an hours-long search for Swecker near Montana Avenue and West Fork Road. Police said he was considered to be armed and dangerous.
The relationship between Swecker and Boyajian is unknown.
Boyajian worked as the school nurse for the past six years. They said she was a staple on campus and always brought a positive energy to the school.
