MASON, OH (FOX19) -

Both Kings Island and Disney World are using technology to improve your park experience.

As Kings Island begins daily operations, it will feature an enhanced app for your smart phones. While the Kings Island app isn’t new this year, it has changed.

It offers, “better visuals, ride wait times, an interactive park map, and the ability to integrate your Season Pass, Fun Pix and Dining Plans into the app” said Kings Island Public Relations Area Manager, Don Helbig.

Fun Pix is new this year and is basically a Photo Pass for your Season pass, offering unlimited professional park photos every visit.

If you’re headed to Florida to enjoy some quality time with Mickey Mouse and the Princesses, you’ll find Technology is changing the park experience there too.

E News reports Disney just dumped  a  childhood favorite… the Disney Dollars. The move comes on the heels of the Magic Bands which have nearly everything you could need for a day of fun in the Magic Kingdom.

The bands do everything from unlocking your hotel room in Disney Resorts to acting as a credit card and admission ticket, even giving access to fast pass to avoid long waits in line.

Disney World also has an app to help you navigate the park, which you can also use to check ride wait times, among other features.

But it’s not all about technology… Kings Island is gearing up to open its new additions to Soak City. Tropical Plunge is a seven-story tall complex featuring six different water slide experiences.

Soak City and the new Tropical Plunge slides open Memorial Day weekend.
