CINCINNATI (FOX19) -

A manhunt is underway for a wanted fugitive who escaped the custody of federal agents in downtown Thursday.

Mekahale Lamb, 31, should be considered dangerous, according to FBI spokesperson Todd Lindgren.

Lamb was in handcuffs when he fled from FBI agents around 11:45 a.m. Cincinnati Police Lt. Steve Saunders said he was last seen near Fountain Square without the handcuffs.

Authorities describe Lamb as a black male, 5’7”, 160 pounds with tattoos covering his upper body and neck. He was wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt and salmon-colored pants.

Federal agents arrested Lamb Thursday morning on federal warrants, Saunders said. The exact charges against him are unknown.

The FBI warns Lamb should not be approached.

"If someone sees him, do not approach him. Call 911. Report it to police immediately. If you have information that could lead to an arrest, call Crime Stoppers,” said Cincinnati Police Lt. Steve Saunders.

Anyone with information about his whereabouts could also call the FBI at (513) 421-4310.
