Opening a new food service operation in Cincinnati will be a little easier starting June 1.

The Permit Center and the Cincinnati Health Department have teamed up to offer a simplified process for local restaurateurs and entrepreneurs to open their doors.

The Permit Center, located at 805 Central Ave, Suite 500, is now the first stop to open a new restaurant or food service operation.

Individuals can obtain both a building permit and Food Facility Plan Review (FFPR) application at the Permit Center, where trained staff are available to answer health-related questions on site.

This process is required only for new establishments and bypasses an extra step during the initial planning phase. For more information or to open a restaurant, visit the City Permit Guide.
