Woman, 61, killed in crash involving motorcycle

TATE TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) - A 61-year-old woman was killed in a two-vehicle accident involving a motorcycle in Clermont County Sunday, according to the Ohio Highway State Patrol.

An eastbound 1989 Chevrolet pickup truck on Ohio 125 hit a westbound 2010 Honda Goldwing motorcycle trying to turn left onto Sugartree Road about 6:20 p.m., patrol officials said in a prepared statement.

Both women on the motorcycle - the driver, Sharon A. Johnson, 48, of New Richmond and her passenger, Marlene S. Porterfield of New Richmond, were ejected.

Porterfield was pronounced dead at the scene.

AirCare flew Johnson to University of Cincinnati Medical Center with serious injuries.

The driver of the pickup truck, Tyler S. Elliott, 33, of Georgetown, was taken to Clermont Mercy Hospital with minor injuries.

Seat belts, helmets and protective gear were in use at the time of the crash, according to the state patrol.

The cause remains under investigation.
