Researchers at Cornell University found when apples were served whole at school lunches, many of them were thrown in the trash.
Cut them up and 60 percent more apples were eaten.
Researchers say children hate the idea of breaking the apple's skin, eating around the core, and holding the large fruit.
Cutting them up makes them a lot more appealing.
