Alcohol is a factor in a wrong-way crash that hurt two motorists and shut down eastbound Interstate 275 at the Mosteller Road exit for more than four hours Tuesday morning, Sharonville police said.
Kayla Chenault, 23, was behind the wheel of a silver Hyundai traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes when her vehicle hit an oncoming, eastbound box truck head-on about 2:45 a.m., police said.
Chenault was trapped and had to be extricate by firefighters. AirCare responded and flew her to University of Cincinnati Medical Center.
The box truck was knocked on its side. The driver, Derrick Beverly, 38, also was hurt and taken by ambulance to the hospital.
Both motorists are listed in stable condition, police said.
The highway reopened at 7:15 a.m.
