Frankiln Township, Clermont County - -

A pedestrian hit by a vehicle and critically hurt earlier this week has died, according to the Hamilton County Coroner's Office.

Kevin Hamilton, 53, was walking on the double yellow line in the middle of the road on Ohio 133 near Ohio 774 when a southbound 1997 Mitsubishi Eclipse hit him about 10 p.m. Monday, troopers at the Batavia post said.

AirCare responded and flew Hamilton to University of Cincinnati Medical Center, where he was listed in critical condition, troopers said early Tuesday.

He was pronounce dead there later Tuesday.

The female driver of the Mitsubishi, 18, stopped and cooperated with troopers, they said.

She was released without being cited. Troopers said a preliminary investigation determined the pedestrian was at fault.

There is no crosswalk in the area of the crash, they said.

The incident remains under investigation.
