The University of Cincinnati is alerting its community about an assault that reportedly occurred early Saturday on Wheeler Street.

The victim, a UC student, was approached by the suspect, who shook the victim’s hand and then began grabbing the victim and hitting their legs and side, police said.

According to police, the victim said the suspect may have tried to physically pick them up. The victim was able to fight off the suspect and run away.

Police describe the suspect as a white male, 6 feet 2 inches tall, with a long brownish/reddish beard. He also could possibly have a European accent.

The suspect described in this incident closely matches a suspect description to a similar incident that happened nearly one year ago, police said.
