A 60-year-old motorist is dead after his vehicle ran off the road and slammed into a tree and parking garage Wednesday night, Cincinnati police said.

The man was found in the 2000 block of Reading Rd. near Dorchester Avenue around 8 p.m., after crews responded to reports of a car into a building, said Lt. Tim Brown, the night chief.

He was driving southbound on Reading Road at a high rate of speed when he lost control of his vehicle and ran off the side of the road, striking a tree and the parking garage, Brown said.

The driver was taken to University of Cincinnati Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

The Hamilton County Coroner's Office identified him as Harold Leach of West Chester.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

The parking garage has no structural damage, Brown added.
