FC Cincinnati fell to the Tampa Bay Rowdies 1-0 Wednesday night at Al Lang Stadium in St. Petersburg, Florida, watching their seven-game win streak come to an end.
Georgi Hristov scored the lone goal for the Rowdies in the 11th minute and after a few late threats for the Orange and Blue, they failed to find the equalizer.
There were a number of chances towards the end of the second half, especially during stoppage time, but FC Cincinnati could not find an answer and will not move onto the fourth round of the U.S. Open Cup to face the Columbus Crew.
FC Cincinnati, who currently sits third in the USL table with a 6-2-2 record, will return home Saturday and resume USL action against the Richmond Kickers (4-4-3) with kickoff scheduled for 7 p.m.
