MOUNT HEALTHY, OH (FOX19) -

The eight week old Chihuahua Yorkie mix puppy has been returned.

It was stolen Wednesday by a young man seen on surveillance video stuffing the dog into his back pack.  The owner of Animal House Pet Store says the 17-year-old boy returned with the puppy around 7 p.m. Thursday night.

The owner, Mike Raleigh, says he came in with his girlfriend who looked a lot like the woman on the surveillance video distracting his wife while the puppy was being stolen. He said they were very emotional asking what was going to happen to them.

They told him they were sorry and didn’t know what they were thinking.

They didn’t have any money but really wanted the dog. Raleigh said he didn’t know, but gave his name and number to Mt. Healthy Police.  At last check, officers were tracking him down.

Glass posted store surveillance footage from the incident on her Facebook page.
