The Cincinnati Recreation Commission is inviting Cincinnatians to attend the next lifeguard screening on Monday, June 6, at 9 a.m. at Ryan Pool, 2856 Fischer Place in Westwood.

Lifeguards must be age 15 or older and will start at $10.10 per hour beginning on July 1. Previous lifeguard experience will count towards higher pay rates, the CRC said.

CRC lifeguards must meet prerequisite swimming skills including 300-yard continuous swim using front/crawl and/or breaststroke, swim 20 yards, surface dive 10 feet to retrieve a 10-pound brick return to the surface and swim back to the surface while keeping face near surface and tread water for two minutes using legs only.
