NEWPORT, KY (FOX19) - The bridge restoration continues on the Memorial Parkway bridge over Interstate 471 through mid-August.
Beginning Sunday evening, the ramp from northbound I-471 Exit 4 ramp to Memorial Parkway will be closed and will remain closed until June 19.
The on-ramp from Memorial Parkway to northbound I-471 will open on June 5 overnight as the off-ramp is closed.
The detour for getting to Newport or Fort Thomas is to use the Grand Avenue exit, head north on Grand to Fort Thomas, or south on Grand Avenue, turn right onto Pavilion Parkway (in front of Kroger's) back to Memorial Parkway.
The full closure of the Memorial Parkway bridge will be June 20 – August 15.
This is always based on the weather, so the dates could change. The project is expected to be complete mid-August 2016.
