Jogger hit, killed in Liberty Township identified

LIBERTY TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) -

The jogger that was hit and killed in Liberty Township has been identified.  

Deputies from the Butler County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to the area of Millikin and Lesourdville-West Chester Road for a fatal accident involving a pedestrian. 

A preliminary investigation shows the jogger, Emily Batz, of Albuqueque, NM, crossed the road at Millikin and Lesourdville-West Chester when she was struck by an eastbound vehicle as she stepped into the road at the crosswalk, according to the Butler County Sheriff's Office. 

The driver of the car stopped at the scene. 

Batz was pronounced dead at the scene.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
