CINCINNATI (AP) - Timeline: Monthlong chase of homeless appears near end

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - Two candidates for Ohio treasurer have very different ideas about how they'd run the office. The Columbus Dispatch reports that Democrat Rob Richardson wants to take a more expanded and active role as treasurer, while Republican Robert Sprague has a more traditional, but updated, view of the job. Both are vying to succeed GOP Ohio Treasurer Josh Mandel, who's term-limited.

CLEVELAND (AP) - Police say a man has been beaten outside a house in Cleveland and has died. Cleveland police say the 33-year-old man was beaten around 11:30 p.m. Saturday. Police say first responders found the man with blunt force injuries to his head and neck and transported him to a hospital, where he died. Authorities didn't immediately release his identity. Police say a suspect confronted the man in front of house that the victim was visiting, assaulted him and then left the scene.

CLEVELAND (AP) - Police say a woman riding an electric scooter in downtown Cleveland has been hit by a car and has died. A Cleveland police spokeswoman says the crash occurred around 10 p.m. Saturday when a car traveling "well in excess" of the 25 mph speed limit struck the rear of the scooter. The 21-year-old woman was thrown off the scooter onto the road and was pronounced dead at a hospital. Police say the 19-year-old man who was driving the car was arrested on a charge of aggravated vehicular homicide.
