TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) - Some parents at an Ohio middle school say they were shocked to hear an eighth-grade choir sing about picking cotton not long after other students in the district took photos and videos of themselves with a Confederate flag outside the high school. The Blade reports "Cotton Needs Pickin'" was performed Thursday during the fall concert at Springfield Middle School in Lucas County. The school superintendent says the song came from a book of American folk music.

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - Police say suspects in a rental truck drove through the front entrance of a Louis Vuitton store in Columbus and carried off about $150,000 worth of designer merchandise. The Columbus Dispatch reports the smash-and-grab occurred just after 5:30 a.m. Thursday at a shopping complex called Easton Town Center. The theft is under investigation.

MORAINE, Ohio (AP) - Workers for a Chinese glass maker in southwest Ohio are trying to form a union. The employees of Fuyao Glass America Inc. facility in Moraine filed their request for a representation election with the National Labor Relations Board on Monday. It cites a pattern of unsafe workplace conditions, arbitrary policies and unfair and unequal treatment on the job.

DAYTON, Ohio (AP) - Police say a man has been arrested in southwest Ohio after stealing an ambulance with a patient and a medic in the back. The Dayton Daily News reports that police say a 44-year-old man stole the Dayton Fire Department ambulance during a call Friday night. Keys were left in the ignition of the ambulance, allowing him to drive off. Police finally stopped the ambulance after it traveled more than a mile.
