BATAVIA, Ohio (AP) - The divide over the overdose antidote naloxone between sheriffs in two hard-hit counties in Ohio shows just how elusive solutions are on the front lines of the U.S. opioid crisis. The sheriff of Clermont County firmly believes it's a call of duty for his deputies to carry the drug. His counterpart in nearby Butler County says it subjects deputies to danger while making no lasting impact on the death toll.

CLEVELAND (AP) - Cleveland has agreed to pay $375,000 to settle a lawsuit alleging that a white police officer shot an unarmed black man who was trying to surrender. The settlement in the lawsuit filed by 29-year-old Kipp Holloway was finalized Thursday in U.S. District Court in Cleveland. The lawsuit stems from a May 2014 shooting

CANTON, Ohio (AP) - Authorities say a worker caught in a machine at a meat processing plant in Ohio has died. The Repository reports the Stark County Coroner's Office has identified the worker killed Saturday afternoon at the Fresh Mark plant in Canton as 62-year-old Samuel Martinez. A coroner's investigator says the Canton resident stepped into a chute and got caught in a waste grinder.

CINCINNATI (AP) - A macabre "zombie Nativity" scene that's become an annual tradition of sorts in a suburban Cincinnati neighborhood won't be displayed next Christmas. Creator Jasen Dixon says he will put the nativity scene in storage or sell it off after this year. The Cincinnati Enquirer reports the Nativity features hay, a zombie Mary and a zombie baby Jesus.
