FLEMINGSBURG, Ky. (AP) - An eastern Kentucky school superintendent has confirmed an investigation into the district's use of public funds. Creasman blamed the problems on an unnamed former district employee. He said school officials have handed the investigation over to the Kentucky State Police.

JOHNSON FORK, Ky. (AP) - An Indiana man has been arrested in Kentucky after police found him naked in a stranger's yard declaring he might be Jesus. The Kentucky New Era reports a homeowner called police to report a naked man behind his house. Magoffin County Sheriff's Deputies said they found the man lying in the grass near the home. LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - Majority-black schools in Kentucky's largest district typically have high turnover rates that leave them with inexperienced teachers. The Courier Journal reports an analysis of school and district data from the 2016-17 school year found the average teacher experience among Jefferson County Public Schools' 18 "priority" schools is less than 10 years. Twelve of those 18 schools have majority black student populations.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - Kentucky's Republican governor is downplaying fears that the European Union's retaliatory tariffs could disrupt the booming market for the Bluegrass state's iconic bourbon industry. But Gov. Matt Bevin's comments are at odds with his home state's whiskey distillers. During a TV interview this week with Bloomberg, Bevin called the tariffs a "money grab" by the EU, and downplayed fears it could inflict pain on distillers in Kentucky.
