FAIRFAX, OH (FOX19) -
A Fairfield pet store is asking for help finding the women who stole a two-pound puppy from its enclosure Tuesday.
Petland, located on Dixie Highway, shared surveillance images of the two suspects. The pair entered the store around 6:15 p.m. and identified themselves as mother and daughter, the Facebook post read.
“Our concern is that the adorable pup is less than 2 pounds and could go into low blood sugar (hypoglycemia ) if not fed often and properly,” Petland said.
Petland manager John Milazzo said security cameras caught one suspect circling the store while the other played with the Yorkshire terrier in its enclosure. Once all staff was occupied, the women took action, Milazzo said.
Blurry surveillance footage shows one suspect hand off the small puppy to another before walking out the store.
The 11-week-old puppy arrived at Petland two weeks ago.
Anyone with information about the suspects is asked to call Fairfield Police at 513-826-8201.
