Five teenage boys have been arrested in connection with an organized crime group known as the ‘Fine$$e Gang,’ the Boone County Sheriff’s Office announced Friday.
The suspects, ranging in ages from 15 to 17, are accused of robbery, burglaries, drug sales, drug use and selling guns, according to Major Tom Scheben. The gang committed the crimes predominantly in Walton, Richwood and up to Florence.
Officials say the Fine$$e Gang was established around the fall of 2015 and quickly developed into an organized syndicate.
“What ostensibly appeared to be random criminal acts of wayward kids caught the eye of Detective Jeff Miles on January 13, 2016 who structured an investigation using tried and true methods like collecting crime scene evidence and interviewing victims and associates to high-tech procedures,” said Scheben.
Miles worked with the Commonwealth Attorney’s Office and Boone County Auditor’s Office over a six-month investigation.
The teens faces charges including: Engaging in Organized Crime, Robbery 1st degree (3 counts), Burglary 1st degree (2 counts), Burglary 3rd degree (5 counts), Theft of automobile (3 counts), Trafficking in marijuana, Trafficking in Controlled Substances, Gun Trafficking, Receiving Stolen Property under $1,000, Thefts by unlawful taking over $1,000, Thefts of firearms, Assaults, Disorderly Conduct, Terroristic Threatening & Criminal Mischief.
