CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - A man was charged with inducing panic after pulling a prop gun out during a movie audition, in which production crew members were unaware of.
Officers responded to reports of shots fired in the Holiday Office Park building in the 640 block of Linn Street at 4:28 p.m. Friday.
Cincinnati Police Captain Maurice Robinson told FOX19 NOW at the scene that officers were called to the second floor of the building and discovered that a movie audition was being held.
"One of the actors trying for a part, using method acting, brought a blank gun unbeknownst to anybody on the production set," said Captain Robinson.
"He fired off a number of blank rounds and for the remainder of the building, it sounded like real gunfire."
The building was evacuated before it was discovered that there was no real threat.
"He just got overly enthusiastic about trying to get the part," Captain Robinson stated.
Officials said the charge comes because the act was not well thought out.
There were a lot of scared people, but no injuries.
