The Ohio Supreme Court is set to hear arguments Tuesday over access to police body camera videos including a case involving footage showing the fatal shooting of a motorist by a University of Cincinnati police officer.
News organizations including FOX19 NOW and The Associated Press sued Hamilton County Prosecutor Joe Deters last year when he initially refused to release police body camera video from Sam DuBose's traffic stop and shooting on July 19.
Deters asked the court to throw out the lawsuit because he released the video after the officer was indicted on charges including murder.
But he has indicated interest in having the court consider the overall issue of releasing video during investigations.
The court also will hear a related case involving police dash cam videos and whether they can be shielded as investigative records.
