CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - You might want to avoid the interstates around the Brent Spence Bridge this weekend.
Long traffic delays are expected due to several traffic projects:
- Only one lane will be open on southbound I-75 from the Seventh Street exit to the Brent Spence Bridge 10 p.m. Friday until 4 p.m. Saturday and again Saturday into Sunday.
- The right lane of I-71 on the Brent Spence Bridge will be closed from the 4th Street on-ramp out of Covington across the bridge and north through the Lytle Tunnel 8 p.m. Friday through 6 a.m. Monday.
- During this time the northbound I-71 entrance ramps from the Second and Fifth streets exits will be closed. Traffic will be detoured to Seventh Street to Gilbert Avenue to northbound I-71.
Southbound I-75 and eastbound U.S. 50 will remain open to Fort Washington Way and northbound I-71.
To avoid the roadwork, detour onto the I-275 loop between Kentucky and Ohio to the west, or take I-275 east to northbound I-471 to northbound I-71.
