Yellow umbrella program wants to keep you dry in OTR

Yellow umbrella program wants to keep you dry in OTR

OVER-THE-RHINE, OH (FOX19 NOW) - "Everyone's Umbrella" launches Wednesday morning in Over-The-Rhine.

Founders Adam Gelter and Andrea Kern came up with the idea after traveling to Japan where they saw there was a culture of sharing similar styled umbrellas.

Starting at 10 a.m., you will find thousands of yellow umbrellas at 150 locations around OTR.

They're available for the taking, using and leaving. Dedicated umbrella bins bearing the bright yellow "Everyone's Umbrella" local indicate where you can take and leave them.

"Adam and I are beyond excited to introduce this fun and convenient amenity to our continually evolving neighborhood of OTR," said Kern. "As residents of the neighborhood, we know that one of its major draws is the ability to easily walk from business to business and we see the effect that rainy weather can have. This is about to change as Over-the-Rhine is about to get a whole lot brighter!"
