BOND HILL, OH (FOX19) - The Port Authority of Greater Cincinnati is set to buy Cincinnati Gardens, a venue that has hosted major sporting and musical events through its 67-year-old history.
Cincinnati Gardens, located on Seymour Avenue, would likely be demolished if the Port Authority board votes to purchase the property. If approved, the transaction is not expected to close until later this summer.
The port will either redevelop or sell the property to make way for a manufacturing facility.
Cincinnati Gardens has been host to historic musical acts like The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Elvis Presley and Jackson 5. The NHL Mighty Ducks, NBA Cincinnati Royals and Cincinnati Rollergirls are a few of the teams that have called the Gardens home.
The Port Authority has been conducting inspections at the property and other due diligence over the past couple of weeks.
