FLORENCE, KY (FOX19) -

Police arrested a man Thursday after gunshots were fired during a fight in a Florence trailer park.

Cory Elam, 25, is accused of firing a warning shot near the victim, Brandon Lee, 27, and then shooting him in the foot, according to the Boone County Sheriff's Office. It happened at the Mosby's Point Trailer Park near U.S. 25 Wednesday.

The sheriff's office said the offender and victim provided detectives with several different renditions of the incident. They eventually determined that Lee was involved in a physical domestic dispute with Elam’s sister around 11:15 p.m.

Elam confronted Lee, telling him to stop and firing a warning shot to the ground, officials say. Elam's sister ran away from the encounter and he shot Lee in the foot.

Elam is charged with assault and wanton endangerment of the first degree in the incident.
