The wait is over.
The Reds top left-handed pitching prospect Cody Reed will make his major league debut on Saturday in Houston.
This is not expected to be a one-time experiment for the 6-5, 225 pound, hard throwing lefty. Reed is expected to be a part of the Reds starting rotation, for now.
In 11 starts for the AAA Louisville Bats this season, Reed boasts a 3.20 ERA with 63 strikeouts and a 6-3 record.
Reed, a second round draft pick by the Kansas City Royals in 2013, came to the Reds organization in 2015 in a three-pitcher trade for Johnny Cueto including Brandon Finnegan, John Lamb and Reed.
